The taxi entrepreneur course requires active participation and absorbing the taught material. The course covers commercial and financial management of a taxi business, legislation (including the Transport Services Act), taxation, accounting, employer obligations, and insurance matters. The course can be completed entirely remotely.

Completing only the practical section (7 hours) is sufficient in the following cases: 1. The person was granted a passenger car professional driving permit before 1.1.2010 and completed the taxi driver continuing education in 2014 and renewed the taxi driver's driving permit on this basis. 2. The person was granted a passenger car professional driving permit before 1.1.2010 and completed the continuing education in 2014 and renewed the taxi driver's driving permit on this basis, which expired on 31.12.2019. The person reapplied for the driving permit in 2021. 3. The person was granted a taxi driver's driving permit between 1.1.2010–30.6.2018 and completed the taxi driver training and corresponding exam for this purpose. In all other cases, the full special groups driver training must be completed, which includes both the theory section (14 hours) and the practical section (7 hours).

The taxi entrepreneur training is a legal requirement for obtaining a taxi business license in Finland. Without successfully completing the training, it is not possible to apply for a taxi business license from Traficom or establish your own taxi company.
